As we prepare for our planned expansion into Costa Rica we are building a strong foundation for future growth. This role based in San Jos and hired through our Employer of Record partner are part of the preparatory phase supporting this exciting next chapter.
About the role
The Costa Rica team is designed to support our colleagues globally as we expand operations in the Americas. As an HR Generalist you will be a key member of our people function ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations and supporting the employee lifecycle across the region.
From onboarding and employee wellbeing initiatives to liaising with external providers youll be at the center of ensuring an excellent employee experience. This role focuses on HR administration compliance and engagement.
You will work closely with the global HR team leadership and external partners to ensure processes run efficiently employees feel supported and Arbolus maintains a strong and positive culture as we grow.
Key responsibilities you will be in charge of
Lead and coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes ensuring a seamless experience for all new hires.
Manage administrative HR tasks including maintaining employee records processing documentation and liaising with our Employer of Record partner.
Oversee payroll-related administration (e.g. gathering data tracking changes reviewing reports)
Handle purchasing and provisioning of tools equipment and software for new and current employees.
Act as a liaison between employees and external/internal stakeholders ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
Support employee wellbeing initiatives including benefits health and engagement programs.
Organize and coordinate internal events and activities to strengthen culture and employee experience.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies keeping HR processes consistent and aligned across regions.
Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to support our scaling operations in Costa Rica.

Requirements to succeed in this role
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
3 years of HR experience ideally in a generalist or administrative role.
Knowledge of HR processes including payroll administration onboarding and employee relations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
High level of professionalism discretion and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Hands-on problem-solving attitude with a willingness to take initiative.
