Job Description

Supplemental Information:

ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION.
Unless required by legislation the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 13 Step 1 of the 1199 union Pay Range Schedule ($34.96 per hour) with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($36.65) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Position Qualifications:

60 mos. trg. or 60 mos. dental hygiene education or public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code.

-Or Associate core program in dental hygiene education or health-related field AND 42 mos. trg. or 42 mos. public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code.

-Or Undergraduate core program in dental hygiene education or health-related field AND 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code.

-Or Graduate core program in dental hygiene education or health-related field AND 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment. Note: Must be able to provide own transportation.

Additional Qualifications:

Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in dental hygiene education or health-related field

  • Experience working with computer software (e.g. Word PowerPoint Excel)

  • Experience planning and implementing oral health programs.

  • Experience responding to questions or concerns from providers or staff government officials and/or the public/ external stakeholders about oral health programs.

  • Experience working in collaboration with other programs/agencies and/or organizations to develop and implement programs

  • Experience in researching and evaluating scientific literature on oral disease prevention

  • Experience in writing standards guidelines or best practices for oral health programs

  • Experience in writing reports that synthesize information into descriptions and/or recommendations for action.

  • Experience in conducting needs assessments including collecting data.

  • Experience in managing grants.

  • Experience in developing and presenting trainings.

What Youll Do:

The Oral Health Access Program Coordinator will work under the direction of the administrator to assist with developing policies and procedures related to increasing access to oral health care services in Ohio and developing and administering programs that provide specific oral health services or to meet the needs of the targeted populations statewide to improve access to oral health services to under-served Ohioans. Additional duties include:

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires travel and may require occasional overnight stays.

Selected candidates must be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and must obtain a baseline PPD test for tuberculosis upon employment. Will be exposed to biofluids and tissue sharp caustic or toxic chemicals and/or explosives; may work varying hours and must be able to provide own transportation.

VACCINATED: Proof of Hepatitis-B vaccination due beofre frist day of work (do NOT provide until directed to do so).

NOT VACCINATED: Qualified candidates NOT yet fully vaccinated for Hepatitis-B must be able to & willing to receive the vaccination. We can provide it at not cost (post-hire) and temporarily limit your work duties to prevent exposure.
