Overview:
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.
Were looking for a research-focused and mission-driven Associate Biostatistician to join our Global Analytics team in GPM to help us support our St. Jude staff and partners.
Responsibilities:
Provide knowledge in statistical and/or epidemiological analysis to institutional researchers conducting basic translational clinical and/or population science studies as designated by collaboration areas.
Perform data QA/QC data management programming for data preparation and statistical and/or epidemiological analyses using standard statistical packages.
Perform standard statistical and/or epidemiological analysis and prepare analysis reports including graphical and table presentations descriptions of methods used interpretation of findings and making valid inferences.
Work under general guidance of a supervising faculty or designee.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of statistical methods including but not limited to descriptive statistics and linear statistical models including analysis of variance and regression and fundamental knowledge of categorical data analysis
Knowledge of statistical software such as SAS R etc.
Basic knowledge of other programming skills like HTML and CSS Git would be added strengths
Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate results to investigators both orally and written.
Knowledge of database software such as Access Oracle SQL.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Adaptable problem-solving skills able to analyze and synthesize new information quickly.
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a professional manner.
Cultural sensitivity is a must.
Minimum Education:
Bachelors degree in biostatistics statistics epidemiology or related field required.
Masters degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum Requirement: Bachelors degree with 2 years of related experience required.
Experience Exception: Masters degree with no years of experience.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
