Associate Biostatistician, Global Analytics - Global Pediatric Medicine

Overview:

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

Were looking for a research-focused and mission-driven Associate Biostatistician to join our Global Analytics team in GPM to help us support our St. Jude staff and partners.

Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledge in statistical and/or epidemiological analysis to institutional researchers conducting basic translational clinical and/or population science studies as designated by collaboration areas.

• Perform data QA/QC data management programming for data preparation and statistical and/or epidemiological analyses using standard statistical packages.

• Perform standard statistical and/or epidemiological analysis and prepare analysis reports including graphical and table presentations descriptions of methods used interpretation of findings and making valid inferences.

• Work under general guidance of a supervising faculty or designee.

• Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.

• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of statistical methods including but not limited to descriptive statistics and linear statistical models including analysis of variance and regression and fundamental knowledge of categorical data analysis

• Knowledge of statistical software such as SAS R etc.

• Basic knowledge of other programming skills like HTML and CSS Git would be added strengths

• Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate results to investigators both orally and written.

• Knowledge of database software such as Access Oracle SQL.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

• Adaptable problem-solving skills able to analyze and synthesize new information quickly.

• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a professional manner.

• Cultural sensitivity is a must.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelors degree in biostatistics statistics epidemiology or related field required.

• Masters degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum Requirement: Bachelors degree with 2 years of related experience required.

• Experience Exception: Masters degree with no years of experience.
