The School of Public Service at Elizabethtown College is searching for a Public Health Scholar in Residence for our Public Health program beginning in the spring 2026. This is a part-time (in-person) appointment subject to annual review and renewal with teaching advising and mentoring responsibilities. The Public Health Scholar in Residence reports to the Dean of the School of Public Service. Elizabethtown College offers both a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health focused on social sciences and policy and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health focused more on the biologic and health sciences and research. Both degrees encourage interdisciplinary thinking evidence-based decision-making and a commitment to service to society. Both programs are supported by an interdisciplinary team of full-time and adjunct faculty. The preferred start date for this position is January 1 2026. The College is looking to hire an innovative faculty/scholar prepared to support our increasingly diverse student body. The School of Public Service faculty are committed to preparing students for lifelong learning service and professional outcomes. Approximately 30% of Elizabethtown College students are first-generation college students.
Required Qualifications
Successful candidates will have teaching experience in public health courses hold a minimum of a Masters Degree in Public Health (preferred) or a related discipline degree and be available to teach in-person on our campus two or more days per week. Preference will be given to candidates with real-world experience in the public health field and those with potential to build community partnerships with government agencies non-profits and/or other organizations involved in public health. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to student success and excellence and working within an interdisciplinary learning team approach.
