Job Summary

  • Join UWAs Asia Centre and play a pivotal role in shaping The University of Western Australias connections with Asia. This is your opportunity to work at the intersection of academia business government and community driving initiatives that make a real difference.
  • Part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis to 28/2/2027.
  • Base salary range: $95231 $100643 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Asia Centre at UWA exists to strengthen Western Australias connections with Asia by fostering people-to-people relationships cultural exchange and a shared sense of belonging. More than a hub for trade and economic engagement the Centre is a place where students alumni visitors and Asian diaspora communities feel welcomed and valued.

Through fellowships executive dialogues community gatherings seminars short courses and high-level forums the Asia Centre provides opportunities to learn from thought leaders build partnerships and advance collaboration across the complementing the work of the Perth USAsia Centre the Asia Centre positions UWA as a leader in bringing together academia business government and community to champion the diverse connections that shape Western Australias future.

About the opportunity

  • You will provide high-level support to the Asia Centre through the planning coordination and delivery of events the development of compelling communications and administrative support to the Centres leadership and governance.
  • You will work closely with the Centres Co-Directors Advisory Board and key stakeholders to deliver professional timely and effective activities to engage the Asian diaspora in Western Australia and enhance the Asia Centres reputation and impact.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in event planning coordination and delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in drafting professional communications and marketing materials.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in providing administrative support to senior leaders including meeting management and servicing of committees or boards.
  • Experience working across cultures with international stakeholders highly regarded.
