QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in accounting or related fieldpreferred.

Bondable status.

Minimum of seven (7) years of payroll and accounting experience.

Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping terminology methods procedures and equipment.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and related data processing equipment.

Ability to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.

Ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures.

Skill in using a variety of office machines and computer equipment.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive and compute all payroll information for the system to complete each semi-monthly payroll on a timely basis.

Prepare and disseminate all retirement and forms relating to payroll matters in a timely manner.

Prepare and disseminate all payroll deductions to appropriate vendors following completion of payroll.

Verify all totals before and after payroll is processed and verify check totals following preparation.

Receive and process garnishment orders tax levies from state and federal governments and child support orders in accordance with legal requirements/deadlines.

Perform research as required for employee questions pertaining to payroll information.

Serve as a back-up for the Accounting Associate III payroll position and ensure that all responsibilities are completed by that position in a timely manner.

Perform related work as required or assigned by the Payroll Manager and/or Comptroller.
