Job Summary
The Service Desk Technicians goal will be to support the needs of the organization from a customer service perspective in regard to the technology function. This hands-on role involves maintenance and support for every aspect of electronic equipment such as computer hardware software networking and telephony to both the corporate and healthcare facility environments. The person in this position will perform general technical support functions including physical installation assembly configuration and maintenance of company computers and network equipment. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment and to prioritize tasks on a daily basis. This position will work under the supervision of the Information Services Director at the corporate office located in Sykesville MD including a partial work-from-home schedule (subject to change at the employers discretion). |
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Customer Support
- Acts as a technical resource in assisting users in resolving problems with equipment and data
- Provides help desk functions to facilitate the exchange of information and advice to fellow employees
- Implements solutions or notifies outsource providers as required.
- Plan and support network and computing infrastructure in tandem with internal team and outsourced partners
- Troubleshoots problems with computer systems including troubleshooting hardware and software e-mail network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
- Assists in instructing staff in the use of standard business and administrative software and hardware.
- Off-hour/on-call support as required. Understand and support that healthcare is a 24/7 environment and technology must be functional at all times.

Documentation:
- Documents end-user issues and interactions appropriately utilizing Nexions service desk system
- Escalates issues appropriately to others on Nexions Information Technology team and documents accordingly

Technical Monitoring:
Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions as directed by the IT Manager.
Perform daily checks and maintain up-time for all active environments.
Performs other duties of similar nature or level.
Minimum Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong customer service skills to solve customer issues professionally and support their technical needs
Self-motivated highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent; degree in the field of computer science desirable.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience and experience in a healthcare environment is a bonus.
- Preferred Certifications: CompTia Net
- Experience in and passion for a customer service environment.
- Experience working in service desk ticketing systems
- Strong knowledge of computers and networking principles including wireless networks troubleshooting PC connectivity and printer issues.
- Strong technical grasp of desktop support and PC Life Cycle Management.
- Highly proficient in MS Office 365 suite Windows 10 Operating Systems
- Strong technical knowledge in tablet and other mobile technologies (including Apple iOS and Chrome OS devices.)
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills. Customer service oriented.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Maintain a valid drivers license.
