PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing and maintaining end user support via help desk support ticketing system.
- Solving user questions problems and needs with prompt and courteous attention.
- Handling maintenance of network infrastructure including but not limited to workstations servers network switches routers and cabling.
- Supporting workstations and servers for both Microsoft and VMWare.
- Assisting with the management of applications databases system security communications internet and hardware.
- Monitoring network system information including traffic inbound and outbound queues server metrics execution time storage space and recommend/implement efficiency opportunities.
- Software deployment and patch management.
- Participating in continuous education opportunities related to the position including seminars conferences reading trade publications maintaining personal networks and getting involved in professional organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in the financial services industry with an emphasis on client service
- Windows server systems including a strong background in Active Directory Group Policy DNS and DHCP.
- Strong background in general networking (TCP/IP) and some routing including VLANs and proxies.
- System management including but not limited to log analysis traffic analysis anti-virus monitoring patch deployment backup/restore testing and vulnerability management.
- Experience with current Windows server workstation and applications platforms.
- Experience with VMWare and virtualized environments.
- Experience with mobile device management platforms.
- Experience maintaining/upgrading Cisco IOS and associated devices.
- Exposure to network security and adherence to company policy in a regulated environment.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and work in a team environment.
- Must be thorough and detail oriented while maintaining efficiency.
- Must be hands-on and have a passion for IT.
- Current certifications such as Network CCNA MCSA/MCSE equivalents.
- Ability and desire to keep certification current and continue learning is a requirement.
