We are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. Each designated unit focuses on patient specialties such as general rehab neuro rehab traumatic brain injuries and cancer. Cedar Street offers various programs for residents to participate in including music therapy expressive arts and a garden room.
The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center Cedar was designed with the word home in mind. The home is more spacious than the previous 52-year-old Fuller Street facility and boasts many new amenities including four spacious interior courtyards; a new dining room; on-site dialysis den; art room private and semiprivate rooms with their own window restroom and shower; modern furnishings; and new technology to make these community members feel at home.
The responsibilities of this position include planning implementing/conducting and evaluating appropriate activity opportunities for patients. This role supports the health care team in promoting therapeutic services and/or programs. This role is also involved in conducting/implementing community and hospital based programs or special events as designated.

Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
LIC-Drivers License - State of Michigan 60 days required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Continuing Care 60 Days Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Continuing Care 60 Days
Preferred
Associates Degree child life child development child psychology early childhood education recreational therapy or related degree
1 year of relevant experience working with the appropriate population served (geriatric TBI children teenagers or volunteers) and in the appropriate setting (long term care childrens hospital) - Based on Spectrum Health entity and department as appropriate
1 year of relevant experience program planning and development
Familiarity with music crafts exercise and group leadership- Based on Spectrum Health entity and department as appropriate
CRT-Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certified (CTRS) - NCTRC National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification Upon Hire preferred
