DescriptionThis position is Limited Tenure. Limited Tenure (LT) means that if you are offered the position and accept it:
- You will be categorized as a regular employee during this tenure but employment will be terminated at the established end date.
- You committed to stay in this position until the end of the tenure (approximately 24 months from date of hire) before you become eligible to transfer to a new position.
- After the completion of the limited tenure assignment it is your responsibility to secure another role within Mayo through the job vacancy process or employment will be ended upon the completion of the limited tenure assignment.
The door attendant is primarily responsible for assisting patients and guests to and from cars courtesy vans shuttle busses or taxis while establishing and maintaining a pleasant and helpful relationship. This will include offering direction support mobility assistance and answering general questions which might be asked by our guests. Other responsibilities include: keeping the patient loading zones clear transporting patients their personal belongings or selected medical devices; calling recording and monitoring taxi cabs and courtesy vehicles daily for patients and visitors. Assist and support valet operations as directed as well as sanitizing any equipment used to support patient. Assisting with traffic control in drive-up lanes to ensure safety of everyone traversing through these areas. Wheelchair recovery is required of all door staff which may include the following: hospital floors clinic floors hotels and other on and off campus ancillary areas.
QualificationsA high school diploma/or equivalent or higher education is required. Previous hospital or clinical experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently. Requires good communication telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients guests and staff. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works varied hours which may include days evenings days/evenings holiday and weekends with rotating days off. Must have a valid drivers license and an excellent driving record
