Job Skills / Requirements

Our mission started over 40 years ago and we continue today. We are seeking a highly observant and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mobile Store Detective. The Mobile Store Detective is responsible for detecting and deterring theft fraud and policy violations across multiple retail locations through covert surveillance investigations and collaboration with store leadership. Operating in plain clothes this role requires frequent travel and flexibility to respond to various store environments assisting in external theft apprehensions and investigations.

Additionally you will ensure the safety and security of our store environment by proactively identifying and preventing any other illicit activities that can compromise the integrity of our business. As a Mobile Store Detective you will utilize your keen instincts and exceptional surveillance skills to blend into the store environment observing customer behavior and identifying suspicious activities all while maintaining a discreet presence. This role requires a high level of professionalism as you will be interacting with other employees management and law enforcement when necessary. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to reduce losses and enhance the overall security of our retail operations. Your ability to collaborate with store management and your dedication to upholding high ethical standards will be essential to your success in this position. Responsibilities:

Conduct covert floor surveillance across multiple retail locations to identify and apprehend shoplifters in accordance with company policy and local laws.

Collaborate with store management to develop loss prevention strategies and security policies to ensure alignment on shrink reduction strategies

Document incidents of theft or suspicious activities accurately and prepare detailed reports including video evidence for management to support investigations.

Identify opportunities to reduce shrink and improve operational processes related to loss prevention.

Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated on latest security practices and techniques.

Assist law enforcement in investigations by providing critical evidence and testimony when necessary.

Implement security measures and protocols during special events or high-traffic periods to mitigate theft risks.

Provide exceptional customer service while performing your duties to ensure a positive shopping experience for legitimate customers.

Maintain strict confidentiality and always exercise sound judgement and professionalism

Requirements:

Four years of proven experience in security loss prevention or investigative roles.

Strong observational and analytical skills with the ability to detect unusual behavior.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to effectively report findings.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations discreetly calmly effectively and efficiently.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing security challenges.

Familiarity with surveillance equipment and loss prevention technology is preferred.

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
