Job Summary

ABOUT THE POSITION The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Board of Directors Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders to lead the strategic allocation of resources to ensure a high level of service compliance and financial sustainability aligned with programmatic strategic and financial goals. The CFO will be an active participant and driver of eStems overall strategic direction both as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and as it relates to financial recommendations to the CEO and the Board of Directors. The Chief Financial Officer leads and facilitates all aspects of the schools financial management which has an annual budget of approximately $30 million. The CFO ensures proper accounting systems are being followed to meet federal state and local financial compliance regulations. The CFO reports to the CEO and manages a small staff and contracted support (as needed) to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our financial records such that the school meets all applicable regulatory and audit standards. You will lead: Executive Strategy: Serve as the key financial advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors to support decision-making; Ensure the financial sustainability of the organization by focusing on multi-year budgets and forecasting; Partner with the CEO Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team to set the direction of the budget finance governance and deliver on key objectives; Provide monthly updates on the districts financial health to the Board of Directors; Identify and mitigate financial risk while protecting the mission of the schools; Takes a balanced approach to investing in school priorities while ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the school; Bring a solution-oriented approach to challenges while supporting members of the executive team; and Lead components of the districts strategic plan to ensure completion of key objectives. Planning and Oversight of All Budget and Finance Activities: Work with the Senior Leadership Team School Directors and other key stakeholders to lead fiscal planning and implementation of the annual budget; Ensure eStems compliance with all Arkansas Department of Education finance budget and reporting requirements; Direct financial analysis to inform organizational decision-making; Support the Finance Team to manage financial forecasting budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting; Lead contingency planning to ensure the organization can manage unexpected financial situations; Manage cash balances in multiple accounts and make investment decisions; Ensures the completion of all financial activities including the preparation and transmission of financial statements annual audits tax filings and financial compliance reports to banks city state and federal agencies; Oversee all aspects of the budgeting forecasting and monthly reporting processes - ensure accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics; In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team set department budgets and ensure that the Finance Team tracks and communicates spending to budget owners and school leaders regularly. Ensure completion of audits in compliance with all federal and state policies and procedures; and Oversee management of all grant funds. Facility Finances: Manage relationships with key partners to support eStems current facility financing agreements maintain compliance with all facility financing agreements and generate and provide all required reports for eStems facility financing agreements; Partner with Senior Leadership Team and eStems Facilities Team to identify confirm and plan for critical facility maintenance and repairs; Establish relationships with key finance partners to obtain financing for eStem facilities (as needed); Manage construction drawdown and financing reporting associated with eStem facilities (as needed). Child Nutrition: Work closely with the Child Nutrition Director to oversee the child nutrition budget including revenue and expenses; Monitor the child nutrition revenue and expenses and incorporate them into the districtwide budget; Ensure financial compliance with all rules and regulations associated with child nutrition and food services This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and the Chief Financial Officer will also perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
