Creative Director

This role is part of our Brand and Advertising team based in Amsterdam. Our team is a vibrant mix of talents ranging from Brand Strategists Creatives and Influencer Marketers to Account managers Producers and Video editors. As a creative digital marketing agency we mix old-fashioned creative storytelling with the best of what todays technology has to offer to deliver exceptional and engaging digital experiences that build lasting relationships with our clients like Bol and Philips to name a few

JOB PURPOSE

Were looking for a Dutch (native) Creative Director who can turn great ideas into memorable stories that build future-proof brands by using any means technology or channel necessary.

We are looking for someone who is a perfect fit for one of the Netherlands most cherished brands. The ideal candidate will deeply understand and enhance the cultural and creative legacy that the brand is famous this role you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team driving not only the creation of exceptional work but also shaping and influencing culture.

Your profile: Your work is well-known and loved in the Dutch creative industry: It goes without saying that your portfolio is full of standout ideas that are bold funny culturally relevant and crafted with great skill. Your work gets noticed whether through awards or media coverage. You are naturally curious and enjoy working with others experimenting with new technologies and different channels ideas can be shared through. You understand how to build brands in todays fast-paced world where everyone is fighting for attention and where above or below the line sounds like a concept of the past.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build brands: As creative lead you will be the one responsible for the creative vision and output of our business partners and brands. Youll shape their voice grow their brand and help them stay ahead of the competition with creativity innovation and technology.
• Lead our creative teams: Youll work closely with brand and content strategists art directors copywriters designers and experienced AI and UX specialists to tell stories create campaigns and build products. All while pushing them to the highest level of creative excellence.
• Manage and mentor: You will be directly responsible for overseeing a number of creatives and nurturing their personal and professional development.
• Grow the business: You will be responsible for growing DEPTs creative footprint by winning clients and building stronger relationships with existing ones.
• Build our culture:Together with the ECD and other creative directors across DEPT you will be a strong pillar that holds up our creative culture. Youll inspire internally and represent DEPT externally.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• While were looking for a native Dutch speaker the candidate will have to have excellent writing ability in English and be comfortable working in either language.
• 10 years of experience in creative roles (can be in and outside of NL) with a proven track record of successful campaigns in a creative agency and at least 2 years of experience in creative leadership.
• Strong ability to understand and integrate technology into creative work.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in concept development storytelling and execution across multiple platforms.
• Deep understanding of cultural insights and their application in creative work.
• Award-winning ideas are not mandatory but they would be more than welcome.
• Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive business results with the highest level of creative work.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of pitching ideas persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced start-up-like environment.
