Summary:

Vighter is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Occupational Health Physicians to join our healthcare team with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa OK. The Occupational Health Physician provides medical expertise to promote employee health prevent workplace injuries and illnesses and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. This role includes performing medical evaluations managing work-related conditions advising on workplace health policies and collaborating with employers to foster a safe and healthy work environment. The standard of care shall be of a quality meeting or exceeding all currently recognized national standards.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Conduct pre-employment periodic and fitness-for-duty medical examinations.
  • Diagnose treat and manage occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide medical guidance on workplace accommodations restrictions and return-to-work decisions.
  • Advise employers on compliance with OSHA ADA FMLA and other regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement occupational health programs including wellness injury prevention ergonomics and health promotion.
  • Evaluate and monitor workplace hazards exposures and employee health risks.
  • Maintain accurate confidential medical records in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with safety officers HR management and external healthcare providers.
  • Deliver education and training to employees on health safety and wellness topics.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities including first aid and disaster planning.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements including ability to speak understand read and write English fluently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational scheduling and prioritization skills.

Education:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Board certified or board eligible in Occupational Medicine Internal Medicine Family Medicine or Preventive Medicine.
  • Physician shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contract physician(s) who have current full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states but who have or ever had a license restricted suspended revoked voluntarily revoked voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
  • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date.

Qualifications:

  • BLS and CPR are mandatory certifications.
  • FMCSA certification for CDL Exams required
  • Contractor must provide a copy of their DEA certificate.
  • Strong leadership problem-solving and executive skill sets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and changing environment.
  • Knowledge of occupational health regulations OSHA standards and workers compensation systems.
  • Strong diagnostic clinical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:

  • The expected duty hours for this position are 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. However part time opportunities are available.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Tulsa OK
  • Supportive team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff.

Travel:

  • As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commute is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for more than 8 hours per day must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
  • Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects use finger dexterity bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
  • Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment
  • Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
  • Positions require applicants to be US Citizens 21 years or older.
