Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
Collaborating with national academic partners and colleagues the NVCAS Visiting Professor (VP) provides strategies and academic reinforcement to nursing students throughout their academic program and until NCLEX-RN exam pass has been achieved. The NVCAS VP assesses learning styles identifies strengths and discovers opportunities for academic development while working with students virtually either individually or in group setting. The NVCAS VP uses Evidence-Based strategies to foster deep-learning and clinical judgment in nursing students throughout the curriculum and in preparation for the NCLEX-RN addition the NVCAS VP supports an array of projects including the development of resources to support the team to enhance the student learning experience.

Responsibilities

Facilitate virtual tutoring and virtual workshops for nursing students

Demonstrate current detailed accurate knowledge of current nursing practice as well as nursing concepts client needs the Next Generation NCLEX-RN Test Plan and the clinical judgement model.

Facilitate virtual NCLEX coaching and mentoring

Assist in the creation of Next Generation NCLEX-RN virtual activities/case studies and workshops

Coordinate study materials to align with course objectives and the NCLEX-RN blueprint

Attend virtual meetings to support NVCAS project needs

Flexibility to attend location meetings as needed

Demonstrates effective behaviors and accountability in meeting the following standards of service excellence to students fellow team members national team members external agencies

Demonstrates friendliness and courtesy professional environment effective communication and collaboration and first-class service in alignment with Chamberlain Care.

Communicates and documents students academic and co-curricular progress toward achievement of student and program learning outcomes

Performs other duties as assigned

Complies with all policies and standards


Qualifications :

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing Required and
  • Masters Degree in Education or Masters Degree Nursing Required
  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing Preferred

 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Maintenance of a current unencumbered RN license Required
  • Compact Nurse Licensure Preferred
  • Certification in nursing education (i.e. CNE) Preferred

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2 year experience as a Registered Nurse in a patient care setting Required
  • 2 year experience supporting Pre-Licensure nursing students and NCLEX-RN preparation in an academic environment (i.e. course instructor clinical instructor NCLEX instructor nursing tutor lab and simulation specialist etc.) Required
  • 2 year experience with nursing education content development Preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate via telephone and computer in a virtual environment.
  • Excellent technology skills: Ability to learn multiple technology platforms to navigate and access virtual resources.
  • Comfortable speaking on camera in a virtual individual small or large group setting.
  • Must be a team player willing to collaborate and communicate with other members of the team.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds showing empathy and compassion while interacting with students and colleagues.
  • Generalized knowledge of nursing education across the curriculum and NCLEX-RN showing a passion for nursing education.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word Excel PowerPoint Teams and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of online teaching platforms (Canvas).
  • Must be autonomous self-driven.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and adaptable to change.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.


Additional Information :

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1950/Earned Credit Hour depending on the candidates education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
