The Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach is inviting applicants for a non-tenure track temporary faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. This is a teaching position with an expectation of teaching 4 sections the Spring 2026 semester.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to focus on innovative and high-quality instruction in a collegial and collaborative environment and will hold an earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates with prior teaching and/or industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
Candidates are expected to be capable of teaching undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering and engineering sciences. Course sections typically range from 15-40 students. Particular areas of interest include: dynamics thermodynamics materials instrumentation and controls.

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach serves over 500 students at the BS MS and PhD levels. The department features undergraduate tracks in High-Performance Vehicles Robotics & Autonomous Systems Energy Systems and Biomedical Systems.
