Education: *High school diploma or equivalent required *Bachelors or Associates Degree in Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Business Psychology or Sociology preferred
Experience: *Prior experience responding and intervening in emergency situations such as crisis de-escalation intervention detainment of suspects reporting and investigating incidents and enforcing organizational policy preferred. *Prior security experience preferred. *Administrative professional experience preferred.
License/Certification: *Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Physical Security Professional (PSP) Certified Forensic Interview (CFI) Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) a plus *Must possess a valid drivers license (must meet minimum criteria of Childrens Minnesota Fleet Safety Management policy) *Must be able to successfully pass background checks of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and Department of Human Services (DHS) *Must complete and pass use of force training within 30 days of hire *Must complete and pass Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training within 90 days of hire
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. *Ability to work independently and as a team. *Ability to retain knowledge information and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others. *Ability to comprehend numerous policies procedures concepts and to be able to make decisions using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies. *Ability to maintain accurate records. *Must be customer service oriented. *Knowledge of verbal and physical de-escalation use of force continuum and arrest laws preferred. *Ability to walk and climb stairs. *Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. *Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions. *Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions. *Ability to detect irregularities such as security breaches facility and safety hazards and emergency situations. *Effectively contacts and interacts with emergency responders such as police fire and/or ambulance personnel as required. *Ability to restrain or subdue an individual. *Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job. *Ability to proficiently utilize detaining and apprehension tools as directed.
