Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Economics in the Sam M Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas invites applications for an open rank tenured or tenure-track position (based on credentials) in macroeconomics beginning August 10 2026. We look to complement the departments strength in labor international trade urban and development economics. The college provides competitive compensation and resources for research including start-up packages.

Regular on-campus availability in-person teaching and active contribution to the life of the department including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Economics with an emphasis in macroeconomics to be conferred by the start of employment

  • Potential to produce high quality research in leading journals and secure external research funding

  • Commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in large scale macro models and empirical applications using microeconomic dataset and estimation techniques

  • Background in dynamic general equilibrium models casual inference and computational methods

  • Research focus that overlaps with one or more of the following fields: labor economics international trade and finance urban and development economics. These areas complement the current facultys teaching and research interest
