Job Description

Your Team: The Times Media Product team is organised around three core pillars of the Times product: Customer (subscription growth) Content (reader experience) and Monetisation (commercial advertising). Youll be a key contributor within one of these strategic pillars working as part of a cross-functional squad that includes Product Design and Business Analysis professionals supported by dedicated Delivery and Engineering teams.

Youll be joining at an exciting time in our product evolution with the opportunity to execute product strategy and make a significant impact on our digital offerings.

Your Role: You will join the Times and Sunday Times Product Design team. A team that defines the digital product experiences for native mobile apps newsletters subscriber journeys and editorial publishing tools. You will develop a suite of products that will engage our subscribers so they get the best experience possible when reading The Times and The Sunday Times.

Day to day you will:

  • Apply human-centred design principles to create user-focused solutions.

  • Use smart data-driven UX approaches to make impactful design changes.

  • Ensure all designs are accessible and inclusive for diverse audiences.

  • Conduct research using tools like Userzoom to gather insights and validate design decisions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams confidently presenting ideas while knowing when to adapt.

  • Conduct customer interviews and use research tools testing and data analysis to understand user needs.

  • Validate design decisions through ongoing customer feedback and data insights.

  • Ensure scalability consistency and cross-platform functionality through the use of design tokens.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Deliver high-quality work on time juggling short-term tasks and long-term deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Utilise industry-standard design software such as Figma for product design.

  • Validate design decisions through ongoing customer feedback and data insights

  • Think outside the box to solve problems and encourage design innovation.

  • Present and promote ideas enthusiastically guiding teams to explore new approaches and elevate the product experience.

  • Apply knowledge of editorial publishing or subscriber-based products where relevant.

  • Have a basic understanding of web structural components such as HTML and CSS to support design decisions.

  • Effectively engage in discussions with BAs engineers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment.

  • Balance collaboration with independent work to meet deadlines effectively.
