High Point Universitys Athletics Departments Athletic Trainer Intercollegiate Club Sports position will work within the HPU athletic training staff but be responsible for the club sports programs/athletes consistent with High Point Universitys vision mission and values.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelors degree or Entry-level Masters in Athletic Training or related field required
Experience and Training:
- Must be BOC Certified NC Licensed athletic trainer or eligible CPR/AED Certified
Knowledge Skills Ability:
- Knowledge of athletic injuries treatment methods rehabilitation record keeping taping and bracing methods
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical problem solving and reasoning ability; independent judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to utilize Teamworks AMS injury tracking software
- Ability to travel as required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides medical care and athletic training services for HPU student-athletes
- Analyzes injuries develops and implements treatment and rehab programs makes doctor referrals and return to play decisions
- Preceptor supervising Athletic Training Students
- Assists with drug testing for collegiate athletics at HPU
- Ensures all student athletes have proper HPU Sports Medicine documentation submitted
- Inputs data for injured athletes into injury tracking software
- Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students students parents faculty co-workers and managers
- Other duties as assigned
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Ensures appropriate medical care for student athletes for assigned sports
- Provide supervision for athletic training students within CAATE-approved athletic training education program
