The Shop Fleet Supervisor will be responsible for overall shop and fleet management. The position requires excellent communication organizational skills and multitasking skills to engage diesel technicians and automotive technicians maintain good morale among the team and keep construction equipment in service. Requires expert technical skills and the ability to maintain the fleet of construction equipment.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for quality control of fleet tools and supplies and ensuring timely repairs on fleet vehicles
Make decisions regarding vehicle acquisition and regularly analyze fleet expense and performance reports
Be familiar with fleet management software and GPS to enhance company tracking and vehicle performance
Set strategic and operational goals for the fleet
Perform and oversee proper maintenance and work readiness of all vehicles and equipment
Supervise the organization of the fleet
Make acquisition decisions based on need and demand
Sell or discard appropriately used vehicles
Create workplace SOPs that drive innovation for the fleet
Be proactive with support and fleet issues
Prepare reports identifying qualified competitors or issues encountered
Drive the hiring and management of qualified mechanics
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role involving fleet management logistics or a similar environment
Experience working in the construction industry
Strong leadership and analytical qualities
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Solid technical knowledge of construction operations
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Excellent time management skills
Familiarity with U.S. Department of Transportation rules and regulations including FMCSA standards
Proficiency in GPS systems and fleet truck management software
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
