Zoological specialist Associate

Basic Requirements:

• Excellent teamwork skills
• Able to communicate clearly
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Florida drivers license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Animal care experience (domestic or exotic) preferred
• Commercial food preparation experience preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare diets for animal collection
• Process fruits and vegetables
• Handle meat fish rodents invertebrates and other food items
• Wash and sanitize containers surfaces and equipment
• Safely use kitchen utensils and appliances
• Determine measurements of weight and volume
• Keep storage and prep areas clean and orderly
• Assist with physical inventory and ordering
• Moderate to heavy lifting of supplies and equipment multiple times per day
• The Nutrition Center operates from 6 am 2:30 pm 7 days per week and the selected applicant will be scheduled during these hours of operation.

Note: as a 365 day/year operation candidates are expected to provide flexible availability to support year-round operating needs. This may include but is not limited to working opening mid-day and closing shifts during peak and non-peak seasons as well as weekends and holidays.
