Job Summary

Staff Accountant - Southlake TX

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Snapshot:

The Staff Accountant will work independently as well as collaboratively as part of the accounting team providing accounting oversight on approximately 80 special purpose entities.

Essential Functions:

Provide accounting oversight on approximately 80 special purpose entities (SPEs)
Responsible for maintaining all investor-related information in the companys Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
Prepare and post journal entries; maintain accurate SPE books and records in the general ledger
Coordinate the preparation review and communication of distributions
Responsible for compliance with partnership agreements
Prepare annual financial statements and work with the Tax Department/providers to meet reporting deadlines
Collaborate with the Investments Department to ensure smooth funds flow and closing process for new investments
Assist with preparation of revenue and commission calculations upon closing of new transactions
Assist with accounting related client inquiries
Communicate and present financial results and various analytical reports to management; perform additional special projects for management

Required Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
One to two years of professional accounting experience preferably in accounting of private equity funds investment company accounting or real estate accounting is plus but not required
CPA is a plus but not required
Ability to learn on-the-job quickly and perform tasks with little supervision
Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes and procedures in a rapidly changing environment
Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office products including an advanced understanding of Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Superior problem solving judgment and decision-making skills
Ability to think independently prioritize multi-task and meet deadlines
Must have the ability to self-direct work and exercise independent judgment to formulate and implement solutions
