Post Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse Travel Position
Location: Bismarck ND
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days Call
Pay: $2174.40/week
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join on a travel contract in Bismarck ND. The PACU RN will provide compassionate and critical care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented adaptable and confident in handling patients in a high-acuity post-operative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase.
- Monitor patients vital signs consciousness airway and pain levels.
- Administer medications IV fluids and interventions as ordered.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status and provide emergency interventions when necessary.
- Educate patients and families on post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license in North Dakota (or compact license).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
- Minimum of 3 years of recent PACU or critical care experience required.
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- COVID vaccine and recent TB test.
- Strong clinical judgment communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress recovery and emergency situations.
