As a Practice Manager at Horizon you will
- You and your team will serve as the first point of contact for all clinic visitors fostering a welcoming and supportive environment to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced dynamic setting that continuously evolves with industry standards interacting with a diverse patient population including children (ages 3) adolescents and adults seeking mental health and substance use treatment.
- Navigate multiple electronic platforms including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and various web-based systems to manage appointment scheduling medication refill requests chart preparation and record requests.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to clinical and medical staff by triaging needs resolving insurance and billing issues coordinating transportation scheduling appointments and communicating with referral sources such as courts schools and hospitals.
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to enhance clinic operations and patient care delivery.
- Participate in ongoing training and implementation of new and existing Horizon policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify and communicate inefficiencies in administrative processes collaborating with Program Directors to develop and implement improvements.
- Analyze operational reports to detect trends or concerns and contribute to strategic planning and goal execution.
- Manage patient accounts by verifying balances reviewing insurance coverage resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring accurate billing based on service type and requirements.
- Respond swiftly to real-time operational challenges ensuring organized and efficient clinic practices.
- Monitor clinic trends and make informed adjustments to improve outcomes and address emerging concerns.
- Lead recruitment onboarding training and development of Administrative Assistants and Team Leads in partnership with Employee Services.
- Oversee office supply inventory and maintenance of office equipment to support uninterrupted clinic operations.

- Bachelors degree required.
OR
- Associates degree with 3 years of experience in the behavioral health or related field required.
OR
- High school diploma with 6 years of experience in the behavioral health or related field required.
Location:
699 Hertel Ave Buffalo NY. Must be willing to travel to other Horizon locations if needed.
Hours:
This position is Monday - Friday. Schedule may vary. Must have the ability to work evening hours if applicable.
Compensation
Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. This position starts at a salary of $60405 - $66445 annually. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.
Physical demands associated with this position include:
- Sitting for extended periods alternating between standing and sitting
- Mobility required with repetitive wrist hand and finger movements
- Handling light duties occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
