AUDIOVISUAL TECHNICIAN Job Number: 160 Salary: $17.90 Department: Event Services Office Days/Hours: MondaySunday all hours; 1520 hrs/week Duties: Set up operate and maintain audiovisual systems including sound lighting and digital projection for events in the Student Union. Responsible for sound checks equipment placement lighting design projection alignment volume levels and overall quality of A/V delivery. Input and manage client A/V requests using the EMS event management system to ensure accuracy and efficiency in event execution. Collaborate with clients to understand event needs provide recommendations and deliver professional technical support. Ensure equipment is properly maintained stored and ready for use. Work in a student-centered environment with opportunities for skill development and advancement. Requirements: - Ability to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision.
- Strong technical knowledge of audio lighting and projection systems with the ability to troubleshoot common A/V issues.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn EMS for client request management and event setup.
- Demonstrates flexibility resourcefulness and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication teamwork and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Must be punctual reliable and safety-conscious.
- Communicate with clients and inquiries via email correspondence.
- Maintain and organize audio visual booth and equipment.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds; frequent standing walking and lifting required.
- Review all event details prior to event date and coordinate w/ event manager to understand itinerary and client m needs. Details provided by EMS (and event documents).
