Job Summary
AWS Agentic AI is looking for a world-class Applied Scientist with a strong deep learning background to help build industry-leading Agentic AI (models systems and applications). Our mission is to provide a delightful experience to Amazons customers by pushing the envelope in Natural Language Understanding (NLU) AI assisted code development reasoning and planning with LLMs LLM training and fine-tuning and Applied Machine Learning (ML). As part of our AI team in Amazon AWS you will work alongside internationally recognized experts to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in Agentic AI. Your work will directly impact millions of our customers in the form of products and services that make use AI technology. You will gain hands on experience with Amazons heterogeneous text structured data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in language understanding.
We are hiring in all areas of Agentic AI: NLP/NLU Conversational AI Reasoning and Planning LLM model training and application development.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop breakthroughs is agentic architecture in areas such as autonomy self-validation and continuous learning.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists.
- Develop technology strategy and roadmap supporting product development
- Develop prototypes for key technology oversee the productization of the prototype and develop critical assessment for the prototype
- Write technical reports summarizing R&D progresses and communicate such progresses with stakeholders

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Agentic AI team uses generative AI and foundation models to advance application the space of software development and life cycle management we see the application of AI anywhere: from the IDE to web-based tools and services AI helps engineers work many applications. We explore new technologies and find creative solutions. Curiosity and an explorative mindset can find a place here to impact the life of engineers around the world.

- PhD or Masters degree and 10 years of CS CE ML or related field experience
- 8 years of building models for business application experience
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience programming in Java C Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: AI (NLP or multi-modality models) Deep Learning LLM model training graph learning static code analysis software engineering.
Experience using Unix/Linux
Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $179000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $309400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
