AUDIOVISUAL SUPERVISOR Job Number: 162 Salary: $18.80 Department: Event Services Office Days/Hours:MondaySunday all hours; 1520 hrs/week Duties: Oversee the setup operation and maintenance of audiovisual systems including sound lighting and digital projection for events in the Student Union. Supervise and support a team of student technicians providing training guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality event execution. Manage scheduling of AV staff for events balancing workload and availability to meet operational needs. Responsible for sound checks lighting design projection alignment equipment placement and troubleshooting to ensure professional-level production standards. Input and manage client A/V requests in the EMS event management system ensuring accuracy and clear communication between clients and staff. Work directly with clients to assess needs recommend solutions and provide a seamless A/V experience. Maintain inventory oversee equipment usage and ensure systems are ready and in good working order. Foster a student-centered work environment with opportunities for staff development and advancement. Requirements: - Prior experience in audiovisual systems (sound lighting and projection) with the ability to train and supervise a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage staff scheduling event coordination and client requests.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn EMS for scheduling and client service management.
- Demonstrates leadership resourcefulness and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Must be punctual reliable and able to balance supervisory and technical duties.
- Communicate with clients and inquiries via email correspondence.
- Maintain and organize audio visual booth and equipment.
- Review all event details prior to event date and coordinate w/ event manager to understand itinerary and client m needs. Details provided by EMS (and event documents).
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds; frequent standing walking and lifting required.
