Job Summary and Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. Work includes 1) preparing and operating MRI equipment 2) positioning patients correctly and effectively 3) recording the requested diagnostic images and 4) sending results to physician for evaluation and diagnosis. Work is performed under the strict safety/regulatory/license departmental standards and protocols.
Incumbents are also accountable for applying knowledge of aseptic technique; maintaining quality control for all imaging equipment; and maintaining knowledge of physics anatomy techniques and medical terminology through participating in continuing education seminars meetings and in-services.
Your day-to-day work will also include:
- Preparing equipment for imaging tests based on physicians orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results
- Preparing patient and performing MRI procedures
- Maintaining records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements
- Performing incidental general office duties to include answering phones scheduling filing maintaining patient records and ordering supplies
Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology
- Prior Cardiac and Breast MRI experience preferred but not required.
License/Certification:
- American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification is required.
- State of Washington Certification as a Radiological Technologist required unless ARRT(MR) is achieved through the ARRT Primary Pathway.
- ARRT MRI Certification is preferred.
- Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
- MRI Certification pay incentive available
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
