The Supply Chain Division is seeking to strengthen its profile both internally and externally and as such requires a strong communications presence within the Front Office. As part of the Front Office team the Communications Officer (Graphic Design Focus) will contribute to developing communication products and outreach both at divisional level and in support of units within the division as well as supply chain activities in the field. The incumbent will be involved in a wide range of communications initiatives and is expected to exercise a high degree of independence and be a self-starter on new initiatives. The Consultant will report to the Special Assistant to the Director of Supply Chain and will work in close coordination with the Communications Advocacy and Marketing Division as needed.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. In close collaboration with colleagues within the Supply Chain and Delivery Communications team the designer will develop communications materials in adherence with WFP visual brand guidance to highlight the work of the Supply Chain across
WFP and externally.
2. The designer will create visually compelling and innovative graphics for print digital and web-based media. Work will include designing infographics videos templates banners charts and reports in line with WFPs corporate branding guidelines and SCDs quality standards.
3. Work with subject matter experts on communications materials to ensure messages are accurate engaging and make an impact.
4. Create animations and edit graphic videos as part of SCDs multimedia communications needs.
5. Provide support for events that require design production such as posters and brochures and other materials.
6. Collaborate closely with the team for UN days such as World Humanitarian Day to develop advocacy-driven content to raise awareness of Supply Chain & Delivery staff and its work in the field.
7. Follow through the design process for printing needs liaising with external parties for final production as needed.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Have strengthened the internal and external profile of WFPs Supply Chain function A structured internal and external communications plan with clear deliverables.
A well organised well managed Supply Chain photo archive A clearly recognisable WFP Supply Chain visual identity that falls within WFPs corporate branding.
