Job Summary
The Design Engineer will play a key role in supporting customer projects through independent oversight advanced problem-solving and technical consulting. This role requires collaboration with global engineering teams as well as travel to site locations to support product improvements troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
- Design develop and document drawings with a focus on manufacturability reliability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineering colleagues across multiple global locations to align on technical specifications and design standards.
- Review and interpret codes standards and specifications to ensure product compliance.
- Support prototyping and testing activities troubleshooting issues on both new and existing products.
- Provide support to Sales and Aftermarket teams in addressing customer questions.
- Travel domestically and internationally to identify root causes and implement immediate and long-term corrective actions.
- Create and maintain BOMs and documentation in alignment with product development processes.
- Support product improvements cost-saving initiatives and customer-specific engineering orders (ETO).
- Maintain technical documentation in PLM and ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales Procurement Assembly and Service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial equipment and machinery design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles materials and motor control.
- Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g. CE).
- Excellent problem-solving communication and project coordination skills.
- Experience with SAP B1 or similar ERP system.
