Job Description
Do you love automating and streamlining manual processes Systems Development Engineers work with technical leaders to refine technical direction and then follow through with detailed review designs and truly innovative code. Systems Development Engineers are Builders developers of unique technology solutions to address business and customer problems. You will build internal and external services within the AWS software systems and be responsible for understanding the operational impact of changes.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborating with experienced Amazonians to design and build innovative products and services.
- Troubleshooting researching and resolving problems.
- Building tools and automation to support the teams mission.
- Developing monitoring solutions
- Performing software maintenance and configuration
- Implementing the fix for internally developed code (Perl Ruby C/C JAVA Python)
- Updating tracking and resolving technical challenges
- Working alongside development on AWS projects
- Automation of support processes and documentation of our systems

- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C C# Java Python Golang PowerShell Ruby
- Experience tools for automation (building testing releasing or monitoring)
- Associates degree or above or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials)
- Current active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
- Experience on highly concurrent high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
