- Ability to perform detailed accurate repairs and maintenance on diesel/light-medium duty vehicles.
- Examine and inspect all Agency vehicles for mechanical problems and perform repairs in a professional proficient and timely manner.
- Ability to utilize Agency diagnostic equipment and then identify mechanical concerns to repair.
- Ability to handle vehicle concerns reported or written up by Agency staff.
- Report all concerns and issues while inspecting Agency vehicles to chain of command upon immediate recognition.
- Ability to read and write work orders placing information accurately into official agency documentation.
- Perform preventative maintenance services per Agency policy and protocol which may include testing specific parts or systems for proper functioning.
- Diagnose and repair any significant issues with vehicle HVAC brakes steering suspension electrical systems fuel systems drivability transmissions drivetrain lights sirens and radio concerns.
- Understands electrical diagrams and can navigate vehicle computer systems.
- Ability to drive Agency vehicles in a responsible and safe manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Participates in department and agency-wide activities to include meetings trainings and workgroups as directed.
- Ability to display independent problem solving and time management skills.
- Performs other duties as directed.
