We anticipate the need for one or more Temporary Groundman to join our team in supporting electric overhead and underground construction in Red Wing MN. This position has a Graduate Wage Scale starting at $28.45 hourly. This position will be posted for 10 working days from September 10th 2025 to September 24th 2025.
Job responsibilities(May include but not limited to the following):Successful candidate will perform all duties of the Helper (Groundman) classification which involves various electric line construction and maintenance responsibilities. The person filling this position must be self-motivated work well with others and possess a positive attitude and commitment to work safely provide quality customer service create customer satisfaction and to work productively.
This is a temporary position and doesnt guarantee employment beyond 6 months. This temporary position does not qualify for Union seniority or benefits.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED obtained prior to start date and meet all of the following criteria:
- Completion of an accredited Lineman program or Xcel Energy equivalent.
- Work experience operating construction equipment preferred.
- Possess Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- High commitment to Safety.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Must be in excellent physical condition and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Highly developed mechanical ability.
- Must be able to respond to after-hours call out both weekends and evenings.
- Must be willing to participate in written and hands on assessments
