Job Overview
cFocus Software is seeking a Software Engineer III (Software Developer) to support the Security Tools and Infrastructure Modernization (STIM) contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).The Software Engineer III will provide senior-level expertise in software design development and integration delivering secure high-quality applications to support mission objectives.
Responsibilities
- Design develop test and maintain enterprise software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Develop and consume APIs (REST SOAP GraphQL) to integrate applications with enterprise systems.
- Support full-stack development including front-end back-end and database components.
- Implement secure coding practices in compliance with OWASP NIST 800-53 and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders business analysts and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Participate in DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate builds testing and deployments.
- Lead code reviews mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
- Prepare technical documentation including design specifications user guides and system diagrams.
Required Experience
- 8 years of professional software development experience.
- Expertise with languages such as Java C# .NET Python or JavaScript.
- Proficiency with frameworks such as Angular React Spring Boot Core.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL Server Oracle or PostgreSQL).
- Hands-on experience building applications in Agile development environments.
- Proven ability to lead software development tasks and mentor junior developers.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate Oracle Certified Professional (Java SE) or AWS Certified Developer Associate.
- CompTIA Security or equivalent cybersecurity certification is highly desirable.
Clearance Requirement
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Moderate to High-Risk) clearance.
