Job Summary
Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our overnight team at the GM Tonawanda facility. This position focuses on maintaining and repairing non-production equipment and infrastructure throughout the facility ensuring smooth safe and efficient operations during third shift hours.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our overnight team at the GM Tonawanda facility. This position focuses on maintaining and repairing non-production equipment and infrastructure throughout the facility ensuring smooth safe and efficient operations during third shift hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and repair tasks on various facility systems including
- Restroom plumbing (toilets sinks drains)
- Water heaters and water fountains
- Basic HVAC systems (filter changes belt replacements minor diagnostics)
- Dock doors and dock levelers
- Fencing and gates
- Baling equipment (troubleshooting and repair)
- Freight elevators (routine inspection and light maintenance)
- Perform light to moderate welding and metal fabrication as needed.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and facility-related issues.
- Complete general building maintenance and upkeep tasks.
- Order and track parts tools and materials required for repairs.
- Accurately document completed work and parts used.
- Follow and uphold all facility safety procedures and regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience in facility or industrial maintenance
- Knowledge of plumbing HVAC mechanical systems and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Welding experience (MIG TIG or Stick).
- Experience with dock doors fencing balers and elevator systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on an overnight shift and manage workload efficiently.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform routine physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman license in one or more of the following trades is a plus:
- Millwright
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Certifications in welding HVAC or plumbing.
- OSHA 10/30 or similar safety certifications.
- Experience working in large industrial or commercial facilities.
