PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Warehouse TA I is an entry-level role within the warehouse and distribution environment responsible for supporting daily operational tasks such as receiving picking unloading and quality control. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy timely order fulfillment and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Employees in this role will utilize manual and power-operated equipment to complete assigned duties efficiently and must adhere to company policies safety regulations and performance standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished to fulfill the purpose of the position includes but are not limited to:
Receiving & Unloading:
- Unload inbound shipments safely and efficiently using designated equipment.
- Verify and inspect received products for accuracy damage and discrepancies.
- Move and replenish inventory to the designated storage areas.
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored in compliance with warehouse procedures.
Order Picking & Staging:
- Accurately pick orders based on customer and operational requirements.
- Utilize stock pickers and other warehouse tools to retrieve package and prepare shipments.
- Stack band shrink-wrap and label products for distribution.
- Ensure that all staged items are correctly documented and placed in the designated shipping area.
Quality Control & Inventory Management:
- Perform inspections to verify product quality and ensure order accuracy.
- Identify and report defective damaged or incorrect products to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate documentation of received and shipped goods.
- Assist in inventory cycle counts and audits to ensure stock accuracy.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Utilize handheld warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and power jacks for material movement.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and properly maintained.
- Follow company protocols for reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
General Warehouse Support:
- Keep the warehouse clean organized and free of hazards.
- Follow safety procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in other warehouse functions as needed such as packaging labeling and replenishing supplies.
- Support the warehouse team in meeting key performance goals related to efficiency safety and quality.
All other duties as assigned (10%)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
The specialized knowledge or skill (e.g. technical scientific administrative managerial) which the position requires includes:
- High School Diploma preferred but not required.
- No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
- General knowledge of warehouse operations is a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures and work instructions.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Organized self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Able to work with minimal supervision while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
