Bright Future Early Learning Center operated by 4Cs of Alameda County and located in the Elihu Harris State Building in Oakland is seeking an experienced infant/toddler teacher. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 infant toddler units and a Teacher permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Since 1972 4Cs of Alameda County has been dedicated to providing child care referrals education nutrition services and payment assistance to children families and child care providers in Alameda County. 4Cs mission is to develop and coordinate resources to strengthen families and children.
This is a non-exempt position. While we are currently seeking an infant/toddler teacher to work with children 3 months to 2 years of age there may come a time when you will be required to work in our mixed age preschool room with children 2 years to the start of kindergarten.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet the childrens needs in all areas - physical emotional social and cognitive.
Assist the team with contributions for the developmentally appropriate lesson plans and prepare in advance the materials needed for activities.
Carry out appropriate and positive guidance as established by the Parent handbook.
Be sensitive and responsive to parents and co-workers and act as a resource for them.
Attend regular classroom meetings and monthly staff meetings.
Assist in record keeping for the children in the classroomaccident incident and daily health reports.
Observe record and report significant individual and group behavior.
Maintain a room environment that is safe inviting interesting stimulating and based on developmentally appropriate practice.
Be a supportive team player professional flexible ethical and respectful.
Accurately record observations of development.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Child Development Teacher Permit required
Minimum of three (3) semester units of a qualifying infant/toddler course required.
15 hours of health and safety training including CPR if necessary pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866
Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children and adults
Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
Evidence of sufficient security and judgment to handle crisis situations
Physical stamina
