The Opportunity:

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletics (Marketing and Fan Experience) as the Graphic Designer you will work with the athletics department staff as an innovative creator responsible for conceptualizing developing designing and preparing original creative graphic design including page layouts production and management of brand/campaign assets photo-manipulation and typography for various promotional materials to support the departments key goals and initiatives. Mentoring opportunities are available within this role including creative and technical assistance and coaching student design interns and volunteer student staff. You will work closely with the Associate Director of Athletics (Design Branding and Special Projects) to ensure all work aligns with conferenceNCAA and compliance requirements to generate innovative design content which is consistent yet representative of the brand (involving established brand standards and seasonal campaign guidelines).

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime-eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3752 to $5011 Range 42 Steps A - M. Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.Step M is typically a longevity step.

In accordance with
RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of college-level training in graphic arts illustration drafting or closely allied fieldANDone (1) year of experience as a Graphics Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Proficiency in design software including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop InDesign Illustrator Acrobat and Aftereffects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint Outlook Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in design and development of promotional materials.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.

  • Experience working withNCAA conference university and departmental rules regulations policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of sports and intercollegiate athletics.

  • Work experience that demonstrates the ability to organize prioritize multiple tasks work in a fast-paced environment overseeing several projects in tandem in order to meet and/or exceed project deadlines and deliverables.

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal relationship skills including work experience that demonstrates the ability to work professionally and collaboratively with co-workers and constituents.

  • Work experience that demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to perform sound decision-making a positive and proactive attitude and a loyalty toward servitude and professionalism.
