Scottsdale Arts was established in 1987 as a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) and has evolved into an organization with six dynamic operating departments that span the visual and performing arts arts education and cultural engagement. Through its six departments Scottsdale Arts offers diverse high-quality arts experiences to hundreds of thousands of Scottsdale residents and visitors annually in addition to fostering the active engagement of government business education and the private sector in the arts.

We are currently seeking part-time staff to work the event starting in mid-October thru November 16 2025. Evenings and weekends are required. Compensation: $18.54/hr
Shift/Hours: Part-time primary evening hours must be able to work evenings and weekends. See potential Hours below.
Education: High School or equivalent plus either pursuing or already have a degree diploma or certificate in education museum education music theatre art or related field.

Event Site Tour: November 6 2025: (Exact time TBD) Artwork/site walk-through with Q&A time at the Scottsdale Waterfront
Event Shift Hours:
o Nov. 7-8: 5:30-10:00 p.m.
o Nov. 9-13: 5:30-9:00 p.m.
o Nov. 14-15: 5:30-10:00 p.m.
o Nov. 16: 5:30-10:00 p.m.

Here is what you will get to do:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Under the direction of supervisor)
1. Engage with the public for a temporary event related to the exhibition which may include providing assistance with interactive components and discussing the event the artworks providing directions etc.
2. Assist with directing the flow of traffic throughout the event site.
3. Communicate effectively with key staff the public protection services regarding status of artwork and interactive elements.
4. Assist in maintaining safety of exhibition activities materials spaces and other programmatic elements.
5. Ensures safe working conditions while performing job functions.
6. Participates in general event preparation and nightly set-up and tear-down duties as required.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or ability required. 1. Education: High School or equivalent plus either pursuing or already have a degree diploma or certificate in education museum education music theatre art or related field.
2. Experience: 6 months of experience engaging with the public customer service hospitality art engagement and crowd management.
3. Attributes:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as posters and pamphlets and an understanding of QR codes safety rules procedure manuals and technical instructions.
Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues the public and business community are a necessity.
Fluency in another language especially Spanish or ASL is desirable.
Love people culture and art; embrace and value multiple perspectives.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under general direction within a team environment.
The ability to think on your feet and respond to visitors needs; be a self-starter.
A passion for delivering high-quality customer experiences.
Flexible creative and dependable; enjoy creative brainstorming working independently and with a team.
Ability to manage time effectively.
4. Work Environment: Regular periods of extending standing walking. Use of hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms. Ability to talk and hear taste smell. Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral and depth perception. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Due to work requirements will need to work on evenings and weekends as scheduled or needed.
