Job Summary

The Financial Analyst will support the universitys financial planning forecasting and data analysis functions. This role is responsible for preparing financial reports conducting variance analyses and developing forecasting models to assist leadership in decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills financial modeling expertise and a passion for data-driven problem-solving.

The Financial Planning & Analysis department is a new unit designed to aid campus departments and leadership in making data driven decisions. This department will help provide the reporting and analysis needed for strategic decision making that is critical for the Universitys future success.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$65000 - $80000 annual Commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelors or higher degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field.
2. At least two (2) years of full time (or part-time equivalent) experience in financial analysis budgeting or accounting that included the use of Excel or other financial modeling tools.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in higher education or non-profit financial planning.
2. Knowledge of fund accounting and university financial structures.
3. Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Workday Oracle SAP) and data visualization tools.

Work Hours

Core work hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
3. Move about campus in various locations as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
