Visy is powering the circular economy closing the loop between packaging remanufacturing and recycling. As Australias leading recycled and kraft paper manufacturer Visy Pulp and Paper is a big part of our business. Our integrated recycling and manufacturing operations means we collect paper and cardboard from households and businesses and turn it into up to 100% recycled paper. We are also home to the worlds most environmentally friendly kraft paper mill in Tumut providing high-quality kraft paper for domestic and international markets. The paper we produce supplies our board facilities across Australia and New Zealand where it is remanufactured into cardboard packaging for the food and beverage industry.

Role Details

Reporting to the National Infrastructure Manager youll be immersed in the design maintenance and support of critical IT infrastructure and network communications equipment. Youll play a key role in ensuring high system availability robust security and seamless data access for our industrial operations.

This hands-on role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies real-world problem-solving and the opportunity to contribute to the digitisation of manufacturing systems. Youll be part of a team that values innovation resilience and continuous learning.

What youll do

  • Support and manage Microsoft Windows server environments Active Directory DNS and virtualisation (VMware)
  • Implement and maintain endpoint protection backups disaster recovery and system monitoring
  • Learn and support proprietary control systems (ABB Siemens Allen Bradley) and historian systems (OSIsoft PI)
  • Design and manage secure IP networks including VLANs firewalls and DMZ zones
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure system reliability and security
  • Travel to industrial sites across the East Coast to provide on-site support

What You Will Bring

Mandatory:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology
  • Knowledge of server hardware operating systems IP networking and network security
  • Experience with endpoint security systems (e.g. McAfee VSE ENS ePO)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and escalation management

Desirable:

  • Experience on industrial sites
  • Hands-on IT systems experience (1 year)
  • Certifications (e.g. MCSA MCSE CCNA)
  • Exposure to patch management tools (WSUS SCCM Chef Puppet)
  • Familiarity with enterprise backup and historian systems
