Founded in 1953 Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment. This includes air data systems standby displays digital and mechanical standby instruments sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of todays civil military and business fixed wing and rotocraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces. We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern for the Spring/Summer 2026 semestesr. This position is located in our Clearwater FL facility and is onsite not hybrid or remote.
Job Summary
- Understanding and implementing design direction from Project Engineers using Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
- Following standard drawing practices to produce drawings to be used to fabricate material; knowing GD&T is a plus
- Collecting and analyzing data to form conclusions and suggest next steps to meet product goals
- Discussing work products with appropriate staff members and management in Engineering and Operations
- Performing test and evaluation tasks under the guidance of Project Engineers
Education/Previous Experience
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering Degree Program at accredited university Junior/Senior Year Level Preferred
- Must possess ability to work in and around an Engineering environment in a safe manner
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CAD Software preferably Solidworks
- Strong problem-solving skills using sound judgement and attention to detail
Work Environment
- Restrictions limited only by individuals inability to perform essential job duties and where an unsafe condition would result for the individual or surrounding employees
- Required lifting weight: 20 lbs. Lifting Frequency: Rarely
- Sitting standing reaching bending and moving for extended periods of time
- Working with computers test equipment and calibration processes
- Manufacturing environment
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment as needed
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
- Requires repetitive movementWorks with power tools and equipment
- Requires the use of proper PPE when necessary
