Responsibilities:
Assisting in classrooms when teachers are planning absent or when help is needed; this includes:
  • Conducting supervision of childrens activities both indoors and outdoors
  • Engaging children in a playful and safe learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Assisting teachers in maintaining an orderly learning environment
  • Assisting with small group activities under the direction of the teachers
  • Participating in family style dining with the children
  • Assisting in classrooms with helping children fall asleep during nap time
  • Assisting children with personal hygiene including diaper changing and potty training or cleaning a child and helping him/her to change clothes in the event of an accident.
  • Covering for a teacher when other coverage is not available.
  • Helping in other areas of the center such as kitchen laundry room playgrounds and front office
  • Caring for children that are not feeling well or that are excluded from classroom activity
  • Ensuring the center is clean organized and well-maintained to support daily operations and a safe professional environment.
  • Ad hoc cleaning i.e. mopping up a spill or organizing a closet
  • Always following Minimum Standards for Child Care Licensing
  • Assisting with ongoing projects and special events as needed
  • Proactively seeking out where help may be needed while at the same time following instructions provided by administrative staff
  • Attending staff meetings training events and workshops including a monthly staff meeting in the evening.
This full-time position consists of approximately 8 hours per day (9am to 6pm) Monday through Friday. We are looking for a reliable responsible and dedicated individual who enjoys working with young children and is eager to contribute meaningfully to our school community. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills a collaborative mindset and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. While prior experience working with children is preferred a genuine interest in early childhood education and a professional positive attitude are essential.
