Position Summary

Hale County Hospital is seeking a strategic relationship-driven professional with strong experience or interest in marketing fundraising and community engagement to lead and expand our experiential learning and outreach programs. This position will play a key role in connecting the hospitals mission to the broader community through innovative educational initiatives donor and partner relations and strategic communication efforts.

In addition the Director of Experiential Learning will oversee the recently re-imagined Hale County Hospital Track of the Horseshoe Farm Fellowship Program. The Hospital Track of the Fellowship is a unique opportunity for top recent college graduates from across the country to gain experience in a rural community setting ( The Director of Experiential Learning will assist the Fellow(s) in leading efforts to develop new partnerships fundraising initiatives public outreach strategies that strengthen community ties and support hospital growth and educational opportunities for high school undergraduate graduate medical allied health and nursing students. The ideal candidate is a creative communicator skilled relationship-builder and passionate advocate for rural healthcare and education.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the Hale County Hospital Fellowship Program

  • Supervise and mentor Hale County Hospital Track Fellow(s) throughout their development as community health and citizen service leaders as they:

o Volunteer in the Hale County Hospital Health Partners program- a relational support and transitions-of-care initiative for our vulnerable neighbors.

o Lead and teach in a healthcare career pipeline program for high school students (Community Leaders in Medicine and Beyond CLIMB Academy).

o Assist with and contribute to hospital operations and initiatives.

o Strengthen hospital-community connections through outreach education engagement and communications efforts.

o Conduct daily morning meetings with Fellows to review agendas address issues teach monitor progress and ensure alignment with hospital goals.

Program and Partnership Leadership

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local regional and national organizations educational institutions and donors to expand the hospitals education and learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to align outreach and partnership goals with organizational priorities and community needs.

Marketing and Fundraising

  • Lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts to support experiential learning community health and development initiatives.
  • Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies to promote the hospitals programs services events community impacts and educational partnerships.
  • Prepare and manage grant proposals donor communications and fundraising events to advance hospital initiatives.
  • Oversee branding and public relations materials that highlight the hospitals mission and success stories.

Community Engagement and Education

  • Build and strengthen community relationships through outreach education and public events that promote healthcare awareness and support local initiatives.
  • Support the Fellow(s) and students (high school college and health professions) in community-facing projects clinical rotations preceptor agreements and volunteer and service programs.
  • Assist in expanding educational and experiential opportunities for high school undergraduate and graduate/health professions students.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in marketing fundraising community relations education and program management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to craft compelling narratives for marketing and fundraising purposes.
  • Strong organizational leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and with community stakeholders.
  • Prior knowledge of (or strong interest in) healthcare nonprofit or education sectors.
