Primary ObjectivesThe Field Assistant is a key line-level position responsible for assisting with the alteration maintenance repair cleaning and general upkeep of Recreation premises. This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives as assigned.

Essential Functions- Performs routine manual tasks including lifting digging carrying unloading and installing equipment supplies and materials.
- Applies chemicals and fungicides to Recreation fields and grounds to control weeds kill pests and prevent diseases.
- Assists with the maintenance and repairs of plumbing system components and parts; assists in the installation maintenance and repairs of valves pumps and appurtenances on all types of pipe and fittings as needed.
- Operates and maintains the Recreation Batting Cage area.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Sets up calibrates and operates a wide range of standard and specialized athletic field construction and maintenance equipment.
- Installs calibrates operates and maintains athletic field irrigation systems and equipment.
- Performs baseball and softball specific: infield mound and home plate maintenance.
- Sets up game and practice fields for special events; performs painting gameday field preparation and field equipment placement as appropriate.
- Operates and maintains grounds equipment to include mowers (precision mowers) spreaders sprayers trimmers and painting equipment used for athletic fields.
- Performs water removal from fields as required.
- Ensures that Recreation fields grounds slab sidewalks and equipment are in top condition prior to events.
- Operates and maintains Tribal vehicles and/or light equipment in a safe and proper manner as needed for applicable Tribal projects.
- Performs janitorial tasks of all outside facilities of the PCI Sports Complex including mopping dusting and picking up refuse and debris upon completion of work assignments; move furniture and appliances as needed.
- Performs a wide range of duties including mowing edging trimming fertilizing mulching and litter removal around the Recreation fields and grounds.
- Assist and performs maintenance on Recreational irrigation systems.
- Assists in maintenance of the swimming pool kiddie pool splash pool and facilities including water chemistry safety requirements and equipment etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year related employment experience in the landscaping athletic field maintenance or grounds upkeep field required.
- Must possess Groundskeeper U certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Additional licenses or certifications such as Settling of Landscape Plants or Sports Field Management 101 are a plus.
- Must possess First Aid Certification including CPR and Life Saving or obtain certification within ninety (90) days of official date of hire in this position.
- Must possess certification of Mandatory Reporter Training or obtain during the first week of employment.
- Must possess ServSafe Certification or obtain within thirty (30) days of employment.
- Knowledge of athletic field painting and turf preparation methods procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of different regulations and standards regarding the setup and marking of athletic fields for games.
- Ability to operate lawn mower tractor and other related equipment.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

Compensation and Benefits- The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
