Job Summary

Title: Mechanical Design Co-op Student

Facility: Global Automation and Assembly - GAA

Location: Ancaster On

Department: Automation

Reports To: Automation Design Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the adherence to ISO 45001 ISO 14001 IATF 16949 ISO 9001 all Johnson Electrics policies and any other industry standards in all activities

  • Working on Solidworks drawings

  • Working with the Automation design team of the company in order to make sure that we are making world class drawingsfor our assembly lines

  • Interaction with production operators technicians and other key resources to assist with the documentation standardization and improvement of processes

  • Create and Update our PM system

  • Create & maintain documentation for new and existing assembly lines

  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives

  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications Education And / or Experience:

  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives

  • Perform other related duties as required

  • Working toward a technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Design

  • Experience in a design role or previous co-op considered an asset

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Independent and self-motivated worker

  • Hands on experience is a PLUS

  • Committed to meeting deadline requirements

  • Willing and able to multi-task and change priorities based on organizational needs

  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Software

  • Strong Auto Cad or CAD experience (Both 3D & 2D)

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Able to communicate effectively both written and verbally at all levels of the organization

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
