What is the compensation package
Pay Rate: (G36) $86278 - $118935 annualized (depending on experience)

What are the main duties (For the full classification specification please click here.)
Oversee and direct activities programs schedules maintenance concessions and employees of the Provo City Recreation Center.
Identify program successes and deficiencies and make needed improvements.
Oversee facility operations including monitoring the condition of equipment and facilities and arranging for needed repairs or replacements.
Develop and manage assigned budget including oversight of purchasing and expenditure processes to ensure a balanced budget.
Oversee customer service to ensure positive experiences for patrons.
Maintain cooperative relationships with schools patrons and community resources.
Ensure overall compliance with applicable ordinances and local state and federal regulations.
Supervise plan and coordinate work of assigned employees.
Make staffing decisions including hiring firing and reassignments.
Perform other related duties as required.
What are the minimum requirements
Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of education training and/or experience substituting each one year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience.
Bachelors degree in Recreation Management Physical Education Public Administration Business Management or a related field.
Five years of professional experience in recreation program management or a closely related field.
A valid lawful driver license.
Must obtain NRPA Parks and Recreation Professional certification within one year of hire.
What is the selection process
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted with the first screening being held on Septemember 22 2025. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
