You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Student Engagement and Mentorship Coordinator position in the College of Engineering plays a key role in preparing students for workforce success through hands-on learning student organization support and industry-connected programming. This position leads first-year support initiatives and oversees college-level student clubs and professional organizations ensuring alignment with safety protocols leadership development and experiential learning goals. The coordinator partners with departments faculty and industry representatives to deliver impactful student events including industry mentorship opportunities and networking experiences that connect students with professionals and alumni. Additionally the role supports prospective student engagement by managing college tour programming leading the Engineering & Science Festival and coordinating with university admissions and college departments to deliver tailored quality visit experiences. The position also supervises a team of peer ambassadors who support daily operations peer support and mentorship and visit coordination through the Micron Student Success Center.

35% of the Time the Student Engagement and Mentorship Coordinator will:
Student Engagement and Experiential Learning Coordination
Coordinate COEN first-year experience programming including the annual COEN Welcome the Connections Fair and other new student programming initiatives identified by college needs/data assessment.
Provide development and liaison support to COEN student clubs in partnership with Student Involvement ensuring compliance and leadership continuity.
Oversee the colleges Competition Club funding including safety application awarding and reporting processes.
Track and report accomplishments of students and clubs across the university and promote club activities as integral to COENs experiential learning framework.
Coordinate with the Career Success Coach to support the Micron Student Success Centers industry/alumni networking and career programming.
Integrate and operationalize the four-year COEN career readiness plan into the college in collaboration with departments and the Career Success Coach.
Support the Career Success Coach in monitoring student participation in experiential learning internships and career programming aligning with systems like Handshake and Campus Groups.
Co-design and implement new career mentorship networking and experiential learning programming connecting students with employers and alumni in collaboration with the Career Success Coach
35% of the Time the Student Engagement and Mentorship Coordinator will:
Outreach and Recruitment Coordination
Coordinate with peer ambassadors Admissions College of Engineering labs and departments and advisors to facilitate curated daily tours of the college of engineering.
Plan and execute the annual Engineering & Science Festival. This includes working with community and industry partners and collaborating with an extensive network of volunteers.
Coordinate with departments and/or peer ambassadors to ensure the College of Engineering is represented at campus open houses transfer fairs and Idaho STEM-related community events.
Maintain collaborative relationship with Admissions to ensure the College of Engineering and Micron Student Success Centers recruitment programming is in alignment with the universitys strategic enrollment and recruitment priorities and systems
Coordinate with Admissions COEN departments and faculty to facilitate high-impact recruitment activities and tours tailored to prospective and transfer students.
Coordinate with the colleges communications and marketing team to ensure the updating and development of college and department marketing and communication related to recruitment and outreach.
20% of the Time the Student Engagement and Mentorship Coordinator will:
Student Supervision
Recruit hire and train College of Engineering student ambassadors to support student success efforts including but not limited to: new student peer mentorship daily tours outreach and recruitment events etc.
Co-create peer ambassador training curriculum (with the Director) for student ambassadors through collaboration with faculty and staff in the College of Engineering and the StoryCollider organization.
Oversee student ambassadors in supporting the operations of the Micron Student Success Center College of Engineering visit requests front desk support career programming support advising projects etc.
10% of Time the Student Engagement and Mentorship Coordinator must:
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekend events in addition to participating in overnight travel related to the execution of office initiatives.
Bachelors Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
