Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Rochester NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12 Day (07:00 AM 07:00 PM)
Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required Self-scheduling No on-call

Pay Rate:

Travel Rate: $1285/Week
Local Rate: $1138.50/Week

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nursefor an exciting local job in Rochester NY.

Responsibilities

Administer medications including antihypertensives antidepressants and antianxiety agents
Provide patient care: bathing mouth care pressure ulcer prevention dressing changes
Perform and monitor blood glucose testing GI tube care and colostomy care (preferred)
Manage foley catheters (male & female) and assist with clean-catch specimens
Monitor telemetry obtain EKGs and support cardiac patient care
Initiate IV therapy and manage IV pumps (starting IVs preferred)
Document care in Epic
Report changes in patient status to RN/MD and adhere to isolation precautions/de-escalation protocols when necessary

Requirements

Active LVN/LPN license
Minimum 1 year of acute care experience (required)
Prior travel nursing experience (required)
BLS certification (required)
Preferred: wound vac care colostomy care interpretation of dysrhythmias end-of-life care pacemaker care ability to start IVs
